Oxbridge vs. Ivy League: Choosing Your Battle
The Ivy League (US):
Philosophy: Liberal Arts. You explore different subjects (History, Math, Drama) before declaring a major.
Admissions: Holistic. They care about your personality and leadership.
Life: Campus community, sports, clubs are huge.
Oxbridge (UK):
Philosophy: Deep Specialization. You study only your subject for 3 years.
Admissions: Purely Academic. The Interview is a mock tutorial where they test your ability to learn new concepts live.
Teaching: The Tutorial/Supervision System — you and 1-2 other students sit with a professor once a week to debate your essay. It is intense and rigorous.
Fit Check: If you love your subject and hate "forced fun" clubs, go Oxbridge. If you want to explore and lead, go Ivy.
